Musical Magic: Pixies

Yesterday my friends Isabel, Meg and Harriet and I, being the jammy girls that we are, managed to get free tickets to see the Pixies, courtesy of my gran. I'm not really sure how my gran got the tickets, but a free ticket is a free ticket and I wasn't saying no.

They played at the Eden Project, which for those of you who don't know is basically a series of giant greenhouses that house tropical plants from different environments around the world. It's a pretty cool place. When you purchase, or receive, an Eden session ticket you get free entry for the day, which my Isabel (in the picture above) and I took advantage of. We had a stroll through the tropical biome, got much too hot and swiftly moved onto the Mediterranean biome which was much more comfortable.

The food at Eden is incredible, but I always go for the curry and it is always too hot for my weak taste buds and so eating it, though it was thoroughly tasty, was not particularly enjoyable due to the buckets of sweat pouring from my forehead after every mouthful.

An all female, Japanese rock-band supported the Pixies. They were good and by the end I was loving it but I couldn't understand a word of their songs and the singing was more like tuneful shouting. Definitely an experience though.

The Pixies themselves were utterly incredible. They didn't play a note wrong and the atmosphere, as cheesy as it sounds, was spectacular. I would go and see them again in a heartbeat and strongly recommend if you can see them, to take up the opportunity!

Katie. xx

P.S. I'm off to Thailand on Monday and I'm not entirely sure where I will have wifi but apparently it's abundant so I'm sure there will be some foreign blogging going on shortly.
